Petrified Wood Slices. Petrified Wood is formed when plant material is buried in sediment, and protected from decaying due to the lack of oxygen. Over time, the groundwater, rich in minerals, will flow through this sediment and replace the plant material with other things like Silica, Calcite and Pyrite. As a result we are left with a fossilised version of the original woody material that includes details of bark, wood and cellular structures.

Ideal as centre pieces, or statement piece. The size and shape of each piece will vary
