A variety of crystallised quartz occurs in colours ranging from deep purple to pale lavender. The presence of manganese in clear quartz produces amethyst, while the amount of iron content varies the strength of the purple colouration.

Description

Carnelian Wand

Long Drop shape. Sold individually.

A Microcrystalline Quartz – orange with banding

Carnelian is a form of Chalcedony, prized for its vibrate red/orange, translucent colouring. Dispersed inclusions of Haematite and Iron Oxide within the Quartz create the rich vibrancy of its content. Although most stones with high volumes of Quartz have a smooth, reflective finish to them, Carnelian has a dull, waxy lustre. It has been incredibly popular in jewellery throughout the ages due the unrivalled brilliance of its colour palette.

The presence of other minerals may result in bands of Agate within the Carnelian stone, creating desirable bands and ‘eyes’.

Our Carnelian range is completely natural, and has not been synthetically dyed.

This is believed to be a powerful stone, commonly used to stimulate precision and perceptiveness by awakening inherent talents and skills.
