Glowing hues of orange/brown, with brown matrix and very little white

Fire Agate is a member of the Chalcedony family, and is found in only a few locations around the world. The ‘fire’ (or iridescence) is an optical phenomenon that is similar to the reflective surface found on Labradorite. Layered microscopic particles of Iron Oxide filter and reflect light in a specific way, allowing only a variety of colours to be visible. These colours are associated with flames and fire, hence its name – red, orange, yellow, green and blue. It is this internally layered composition that makes this stone unique from any other type of Agate.
