Description
Nguni Jasper
A microcrystalline form of Quartz – patterns with different shades of brown.
Jasper is an aggregate stone, mainly composed of Quartz and Iron. The presence of Iron Oxide (the mineral responsible for its colouring) pigments the compound, resulting in its distinctive colouring and patterns across the surface of the stone. The wide variety of colours forms from several impurities and minerals being present in its content.
The small amount of patterning is created when rocks composed of several different fragments are naturally melded together, creating banding and veins within its matrix. This commonly occurs during tectonic activity within the Earth’s crust, as disturbing deposits of Jasper causes it to continuously grow and fill any new cracks or veins that have been created.
Nguni Jasper encourages a more social temperament when adapting to negative/harsh events.
