Libyan Desert glass is also known as the Great Sand Sea glass. It is a glassy object produced by the fusion of rock fragments, as a result of the heat developed from the impact of a meteorite on the earth’s surface. Libyan desert glass is found in areas in the eastern Sahara, in the deserts of eastern Libya, and in western Egypt.
