Description
Mineralised Petrified Wood – shades of red, brown and beige.
As the name suggests, Petrified Wood consists of fossilised vegetation matter. It is formed when Silica (from Volcanic Ash) seeps into wood through its porous surfaces, hardening over thousands of years into a Quartz. As the original organic matter breaks down, it is gradually replaced with a crystallised cellular version, preserving the texture and colours of the original plant matter. In some cases, colours that aren’t associated with plant matter may be included within the stone as other impurities and minerals may have grown within the formation.
As this stone is made of organic bio-material, is it thought to have very grounding qualities with soothing energy. It is used to aid concentration, helping to create mental stability.
