Description
Sodalite Granite
A member of the Feldspathoid group of minerals – mottled medium blue with grey. A-Grade.
Sodalite’s colouring and patterns can sometimes be mistaken for Lapis Lazuli (particularly if it contains white veins). However the most defining characteristic between these stones is that Sodalite does not contain Pyrite (gold flecks). It is named after the sodium rich, igneous rocks in which it is formed (without the presence of Quartz).
Sodalite Granite is quarried in very large quantities, which can sometimes include the presence of other minerals with a yellow or green colouration.
This stone is commonly used to soothe the mind, promoting a sense of calm and order.
