Description
Tiger Marble
Formed from detrital clay deposits in Sedimentary rock – black and white banding with some brown.
Tiger Marble is a variety of Zebra Marble (also known as Zebra Stone, or Zebra Rock). It comprised of alternating layers of Quartz and Mica (Sericite), creating a banding that is similar to the skin of a Tiger. It is first formed within clay deposits, which then crystallises into a Marble formation when exposed to pressure. The darker layers are pigmented by inclusions of Haematite, which may have been transported inside the formation through the migration of groundwater. The darker colouring of this variety may be due to a higher content of Iron within its mass. It is currently only found in Australia, meaning seams of ore are scarce.
This stone is believed to help in boosting energy levels, particularly endurance and stamina.
