Pistachio Calcite 

Pistachio Calcite consists of calcium carbonate, meaning it can be categorised as a Calcite. It has a slightly translucent quality and waxy lustre, creating a visually striking stone when highly polished. It is formed when ground water that contains high volumes of Calcium evaporates, leaving the mineral behind to crystallise over a long period of time. The brown banding is formed when other impurities are present, creating a visually contrasting colour against the pale green stone. It gets its name from the pale green colour throughout its content.
