Description

Prehnite B

A Hydrothermal mineral – light bean-green with some brown markings.

The mineral content of Prehnite mainly consists of calcium and aluminium silicates, meaning it can be categorised into the Zeolite family. The classic colour of Prehnite is an apple green.  However, it can be found containing other hues such as yellow or orange. The markings suspended within the stone are formed from inclusions of dark Epidote and Iron.

Prehnite deposits form in very unique shapes, the most common described as bubbling masses with a round head and a hollow centre (the result of an early stage mineral dissolving during its formation). Elongated masses are known as ‘Prehnite fingers’, and are highly prized due to their rarity.

This stone has been associated with the idea of ‘letting go’, particularly in terms of decluttering a household to improve Feng Shui.
